Looking at the present situation of our country, makes us feel more affected with the economic crisis. As a result, many Filipinos especially the newly college graduates tend to find jobs abroad. Obviously, the main reason why do many people wanted to fly into other countries because of the bigger salary offered. They wanted to grab the opportunity right away even if it is hard for them to be away from the family. With the economic crisis happening in our country today, not only the investors or businessmen are being affected but the employees or laborers particularly. Many employees nowadays are having tax burdens, especially to those who are single and married but without children yet. In practical way, we can save more money from our salary if we have more members in the family especially for those who are below 18 years old and still studying. (more…)

why collect the antique books?

Each and everyone has its own uniqueness. As a unique creature, our character may revealed through our environment and interests. There are people who are very significant to their personalities and so they collect items that reflect as to who they are. I am a type of person who loves to collect things that are given to me. It means a lot to me and makes me remember of the person always. But seeing or knowing people who loves to collect antiques makes them a little interesting.

We wonder to some people why do they love collecting antiques. And I think it is love of appreciation to historic memorabilia and arts. I asked my friend who loves collecting antique books why does he love to do it. For him, he gives value to the historical significant content, or literary significance and aesthetic appeal. He also added that it is also an investment value for him. There in his house, he showed to me his most valuable antique book. I can’t really recall its full title but the few were Jon M Queen.

Christmas is nearly coming! You can finally count the weeks with your fingers. And another big season for the whole world to celebrate! Christmas time is what we usually believed as the month when Jesus Christ was born. As a celebration, all the members of the family come together in Christmas Eve.

As part of the celebration, giving or exchanging gifts to our loved ones is being practiced. Are you worrying what to buy and wrap as your Christmas gift? To make a difference from giving the same kind of gifts, here’s a better idea I can suggest. (more…)

My mom is a nature lover. She loves to stay at her garden everyday especially early in the morning. It helps her brighten her day to start. She also likes cute puppies and kittens. She likes decorating our house with nature designs. We once had our other house designed like as if we were living in a forest. The tiles were green-styled. The walls are purely white. The chairs and tables (furnitures) are originally cut from the parts of a narra tree and improvised by my architect brother that made it antique-look. Outside our house is a small landscape with stones, selected and imported plants and a continuous flowing water. (more…)

A Smart Sponge

Pollutants like oil, grease, deadly bacteria and disease are all found in our ponds, rivers, lakes and oceans. Now, a new invention called Smart Sponge Plus may be the first step to stop pollutants from reading rivers, lakes and oceans. How? Simple, storm drains filled with a spongy material - a synthetic polymer similar to those used in diapers - can catch household pollutants such as paint and motor oil as they are washed off by the rain. Twenty-eight states are already using the material. So it’s really amazing how a spongy material can help in cleaning up our water.

From traffic to urban sprawl, environmentalist Mark Gold says it all leaves our water sources dirty and polluted. According to him, everything you can think of is a source, whether it’s your car, your next door neighbor or yourelf. One solution for all this pollution is the Smart Sponge Plus. Rodolfo Manzone, a chemist at AbTech Industries in Scottsdale, Arizona, says, ” It is a very simple system based on a combination of synthetic polymers.” (more…)

Computer graphics is the use of computers to generate information in visual images, either on a monitor or via a printer or plotter. There are 2 types of computer graphics: raster and vector. The raster graphic is composed of pixels while the vector graphic is composed of drawing paths. The raster images are more commonly called bitmap image.

In computer graphics editing, an image editing software is a program or collection of programs that enable a person to create and edit visual images on a computer. Many graphic software applications offer a variety of features for creating and editing pictures on the computer. Even multimedia authoring and word processing programs include some simple features for drawing on the computer. Most graphics programs have the capacity to import and export one or more graphics file formats.

Different kinds of image editing programs offer different kinds of graphics features at different levels of sophistication, but they tend to specialize in one or the other. (more…)

Youngsters: Way near the “happily-ever-after” endings.

On and on it goes- our wildest dreams and most bewildered fantasies.

Back in the old days when dolls and toy cars were our favorites, and to the countless moments when crying was simply a naiive expression of dissatisfaction, there was still that sense of fulfilling security and comfort. There were no uncertainties yet.

Later as they become who we refer to as the youth, they find how growing up can be very hard for them. They experience a lot of changes, and sometimes feel ambiguous about being in a difficult stage of life. They are torn between two words of adolescence and young adulthood. Toy lovers suddenly find new ventures to pitch and toss; they gain new perspectives for their preferences. They eventually dwell on the things that are temporary and tangible. No more fairy tales. Many Filipinos nowadays are flying to other countries such as Dubai, Australia and America to work or just to have fun-filled vacation or even looking for places to live. When people try to visit those places, they easily fell in love to it. Because it’s totally different from the environment of our country. Just like my friend’s testimony when he got there in New York, for him, it is such a wonderful state and the Grand Canyon is indescribable! (more…)

They then join the materials with nails, hammer, screws, staples, or adhesives and etc. They frame walls and partitions, put in doors and windows, build stairs, install cabinets and molding, and complete many other tasks. They do measuring, marking, and arranging materials—in accordance with local building codes. Carpenters should endure prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling if necessary while working. oh splendor of love!

I miss my blog - SPLENDOR OF LOVE so much. It has been more than two weeks that my blog server was disabled by a hosting company. I used to open it and reread my old entries each time I am using the internet. I feel so sad that I still don’t know and have no assurance if it’ll be fixed by the hosting company. That is the only blog where I shared my most emotional experience in life. It is where I mostly express all of my feeling especially about my love life. It means a lot to me. I am not doing this to bring back all my hardest times. But by reading again and again those entries, it makes me realize of who I am before and who I am now. It makes me think of how I faced the trials and hurts, as well as how I’ve moved on. That blog treasures my experiences and my learnings in the realities of life. I just hope, it won’t be lost forever. It will be my guide of how to face my next challenges in life. I will do better next time. If only I can ask to them even just the whole blog file ready for export, if they can’t really put back all the blogs. These are the last entries I made in my blog… (more…)

Last Monday, it was my first time to wear my school uniform. I was so excited and felt so great wearing my new school uniform and school shoes. When my classmates saw me, they were all teasing me that finally I’m wearing the uniform. I feel like I was a high school student because my uniform’s design is almost just like what I had in Ateneo. where to celebrate

I have never celebrated Christmas with my whole family for three years since I moved to Cebu City. The first Christmas I spent without them was so boring. I and my older brother, Clint, just slept all night at our apartment after we ate our dinner at the church’s celebration. Then on the following year, I was with my sister-in-law’s family. It was my very first time to celebrate Christmas with a different family. And the funny experience during that time was I didn’t expect they will be having an exchange gifts. I was so embarrassed that I have nothing to give to them back but I received many gifts from them. Then on the third or just last year, my parents and my younger sister went to Cebu to celebrate Christmas with us. But then we’re still not complete.

first time I played poker

Yesterday, I met my cousin, Anne. I wasn’t able to recognize her right away because she lose weight. She told me that she just had her chicken pox. I let her visit in our house because it may be our last time to see each here in Cebu. I told her that I’ll be going home by next week. So we planned how we could enjoy that day together. It so happen that her brother was also in our house to demonstrate about his internet business. While they were discussing with my older brother too, we offered them beers. And then later on we bought “balut.”

Then Anne invited to me to go out. But before that, she asked me if I have been in a club or bar. Well honestly, I’m quite afraid to that kind of place. So we decided to go outside with no plans where we would exactly go. After a long walk, we end up in a poker room. She thought I knew how to play poker. But when she realized it, she just laughed at me. And so she taught me how to play it. It is such a memorable night for me because it was my very first time to play poker.
